Every fall we watch two things: how many Fresno-area people are searching for flu symptoms, and how many come in for immune drips. This year the first number is moving earlier than we’ve seen.
What the searches show
Google search interest in the flu for the Fresno–Visalia area was about 47% higher in the week of October 18, 2026 than the same week last year, and above the same week in 2024. In each of the last two seasons, flu searches didn’t climb that high until mid to late December, and they peaked around December 28. Searches aren’t case counts, but they’re an early sign of what people around you are dealing with.
What we see in the suite
In our own records, when flu searches run high, immune drips make up a bigger share of visits, about 15% versus 11% in quieter weeks, and more new patients come in. The bump in immune visits tends to show up two to three weeks after the searches rise. If this year follows the pattern, the busy stretch starts in November, not after the holidays.
Get your flu shot first
The flu vaccine is still the best-studied way to lower your risk of getting the flu and getting seriously sick from it. The CDC recommends a yearly flu shot for almost everyone 6 months and older. Your doctor or pharmacy can give it; an IV is not a substitute.
The everyday basics
Wash your hands, stay home when you’re sick, cover coughs, and get real sleep. Drink more than you think you need when you’re run down; fever and a poor appetite dehydrate you quickly.
Where an immune IV fits
An IV doesn’t prevent or cure the flu. What it can do is help with hydration and nutrients when you’re run down, getting over something, or heading into a week you can’t afford to lose. People book Immune Muscle before travel or a busy stretch, and Cold and Flu Fighter when they’re already dragging. Results vary.
When to see a doctor instead
Trouble breathing, chest pain, confusion, a fever over 103, dehydration you can’t keep up with, or symptoms that get better and then come back worse all need a doctor or urgent care. So does anyone at high risk, including people over 65, pregnant women and people with chronic illness, who should ask about antiviral medicine early.
If you’re in the Valley heat or the rain
Fall in Fresno can flip from 95° to a rainy week in days. Our own records show rainy days are the quietest days to get a chair, and the day after rain fills up. See rainy day IVs and dehydration IVs.
